Stygian Media is a Canadian horror media company founded by author and paranormal investigator Holly Rhiannon. Originally established as The Stygian Society publishing house, we've relaunched as a full media company dedicated to dark fiction magazines, paranormal investigations, and homegrown horror storytelling.

Canadian horror gets lost in the noise. International voices dominate the shelves and screens, while our own ghost stories and dark fiction struggle to find audiences. Stygian Media exists for the readers who want horror that reflects our folklore, our history, and our fears. Our flagship video series, Haunted Montreal, produced in partnership with Donovan King's tourism company of the same name, explores the ghosts and legends in our own backyard. As we expand into new series', we're bringing more Canadian investigations, research, and stories to the screen.

The Stygian Zine publishes literary horror and dark fiction from Canadian writers, with plans to increase production in 2027. Whether you're a writer looking for a home for your darkest work or a reader hungry for stories rooted in Canadian soil, you'll find your people here.
